QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
27 February 2018
The following are answers to questions received from potential offerors. The answers provide clarification only and DO NOT constitute an amendment to the solicitation.
1. Do we need to include the costs for the dockage, wharfage, cargo handling fees in Valdez to load and unload the barge, and to load containers to trucks?
ANSWER: Yes, you will need to include costs associated with those requirements.
2. How many days do you intend to close the port of Valdez?
ANSWER: Valdez will support this operation until completion. All depends on time required to discharge and back load cargo.
3. Forklift - In previous bid requests it has been specified that the contractor is responsible for transporting containers to/from and loading and/or discharging, as applicable, containers onto/off inter-modal trucks approximately up to 500 yards from vessel. Looking at this bid, we are simply supplying the forklift capable of doing the job. Is this correct?
ANSWER: Yes, you will be required to have a container handling forklift to move containers.
