Solicitation N02RC62626-6 Questions
(1) Delivery & Installation Delivery shall be within 30 days of purchase order award. All shipping/handling and delivery/installation fees shall be included in the quote. Upon delivery, Contractor must notify the NCI Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) to schedule the installation date and time. (COR TBD upon award) Q1: Can you please clarify that onsite installation by the contractor is required?
In the Delivery & Installation section it states, “Upon delivery, Contractor must notify the NCI Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) to schedule the installation date and time.”
There is no onsite installation required. NIH personnel will take care of installation, but prompt and detailed phone/email support is required if we run into issues during the installation.
Q2: Does this mean that once the items are delivered it is then the contractor’s responsibility to go to the physical address and install the systems?
See answer to Q1 Q3: Or will the systems be installed by NIH personnel?
See answer to Q1
(2) Technical Requirements
Q4: Per the technical specifications there is a request for a separate Switch for each system. Is this request in error or does each system require its own Switch?
It is an error. Only one switch is required for this procurement.
Q5: (32pcs.) DIMM 16384mb 2400MHz DR x 8 Registered ECC DDR4. For Intel E5-2600 V4 (Broadwell-EP) Architecture, systems allow 4 total channels per processor & 3 DIMMs per channel. That means with two processors installed, one can have maximum of 24x DIMMs. Current requirement is 512GB (32 x 16GB). Can Government please change the requirement to 512GB (16 x 32GB)?
Please do change the requirement to 512GB (16 x 32GB), which is the only possible option to provide 512Gb support.
Q6: Could you please verify below the total memory (16384mb??) needed per server?
I am assuming qty 32 pieces of 16gb/2400mhz totaling 512mb is what you want?
Yes, we required 512GB per system. Please see answer to Q5 about the DIMMs composition - 512GB (16 x 32GB).
(32pcs.) DIMM 16384mb 2400MHz DR x 8 Registered ECC DDR4
Q7: On page 2, second bullet which gives the features of the GPU computer, the RFQ states 16384mb. Is this equivalent to 5mgs?
See Q5 and Q6 Q8: (1 pcs.) Adaptec AFM-700 8 pcs. Please confirm that QTY 1x AFM-700 Flash Module required per server.
Only one AFM-700 Flash Module is required per system. It should come with the Adaptec 72405 RAID controller.
Q9: (8 pcs.) PNY GeForce GTX1080 8192MB PCI-E (Founders Edition) Netgear XS716T. Please clarify how many switches required for this procurement.
There is only one Netgear XS716T switch is required for this procurement, see also Q4. This requirement is for 8 PNY GeForce GTX1080 8192MB PCI-E GPU cards per system.
Q10: The request asks for 32 x 16GB DIMMs, but would the government accept 16 x 32GB DIMMs for better pricing and performance?
Yes, please see also Q5, Q6, Q7.
Q11: The last line of the “features” section has, “(8 pcs.) PNY GeForce GTX1080 8192MB PCI-E (Founders Edition) Netgear XS716T.” Is this a mistake and that the Netgear XS716T needs to go on the next line, and the government only needs one (1 pcs) of those?
Yes, that is correct, see also answers to Q4 and Q9.
1. For the Seagate hard drives, can we assume that the government would like enterprise drives for this?
Yes, please assume enterprise Seagate drives.
