This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation: No. N02CO62713-78 includes all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through FAR FAC 2005-89 (August 15, 2016).

Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. This will be awarded as a firm fixed price type contract.

Description of Requirement The salient characteristics for the Special Cell Analyzer are:

The laser must possess enough flexibility to produce a variety of wavelength pairs (such as 910nm and 1150nm) for imaging common fluorophores such as GFP and RFP. It should be able to accommodate visualizing additional fluorophores that may not yet be available. Additionally, the laser should be easily tunable to adjust the wavelength pairs in order to meet experimental needs. The wavelengths must be independently adjustable, and must generate sufficient power to ensure two-photon excitation. In order to achieve this, the following specifications, or equivalent, are required:

1) System should tune from 680nm-1340nm and operate at 80MHz repetition rate.

2) All wavelengths between 680nm-1340nm must have pulse dispersion compensation.

3) System must allow for independent tuning of two separate wavelengths; for example, system must be able to produce 910nm and 1150nm or 800nm and 1200nm. To achieve best mode and spatial properties, all beams must be non-depleted.

4) Maximum output power should be greater than 3.0 Watts between 780nm and 820nm

5) Pulse width should be between 100-160 femtoseconds

6) Pointing stability should be <80 microradians per 100 nm of tuning

7) The laser system must be able to automatically vary the amount of dispersion compensation from 0-40,000 fs^2

8) System must include closed-loop air filtration and recirculation unit, and must include integral power and humidity sensors

9) System should have onboard spectrometer for real-time wavelength monitoring

The laser must also seamlessly integrate into to confocal system, with user-friendly application. In order to achieve this, the following specifications are required:

1) System should able to be controlled by either via RS232 or via the panel interface

2) Laser system, including wavelength tuning, dispersion compensation, etc., must be completely controllable using microscope vendor’s software.

Delivery: Contractor(s) shall deliver the item within 90 days after award to: NIH/NCI Bethesda, Maryland 20892. The Contractor that receives the award will be provided with the complete mailing address and point of contact. The contractor must notify the NCI Technical Point of Contact to schedule the delivery and installation date and time.

Installation: To be carried out by the manufacturer and shall occur within approximately one week of delivery.

Payment: Payment shall be made after delivery, installation and acceptance of the required equipment.
