SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION SF 30 - BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE

The following have been modified:

VENDOR QUESTIONS

Question 1: For compiling the 20 year maintenance program required in the solicitation, how many operating hours are projected per year as that will drive the quantity of consumables (filters, etc.) and service actions? Please provide the projected annual hours for:

* Main engine and gearbox

* SSDG units

Answer 1: They get used about 1,000 hours a year for the ranging events they support. That's for both SSDG and Main since they get used together whenever they are being operated.

Question 2: Please provide information with regards to the duty cycles. In other words, what is the load put on the engines and SSDGs as that can skew the maintenance requirements?

For example:

Propulsion:

10% of time at 100% power 20% of time at 50% power 30% of time at 30% power or whatever is representative of the way the vessel is operated on average.

SSDG:

5% of time at 100% load 20% of time at 75% load 30% of time at 50% load or whatever is representative of the load vs hour commonly experienced over a given period of time.

An educated guess is OK as it will provide a common duty cycle description to which all can propose parts and maintenance requirements. If reality ends up being different, the maintenance schedule can be modified easily but at least all proposers will be proposing to the same set of circumstances.

Answer 2:

Main Engine 10% of the hours of usage of the engines is the start‐up/Cool‐down at 750 RPM. This is about 42% duty.

90% of hours is at full load while transiting at 1700RPM. This is about 95% duty.

SSDGs 10% of the hours of usage of the engines is the start‐up/Cool‐down at 750 RPM. This is about 42% duty of the engine but no load on gens.

80% of the hours the gens run at 750 amps between 2 each which is about 50% duty.

N0025319R0009

5% of the hours the gens run in overload for our Bow Thruster at 2000 amps between 2 gens on cold startup of the DP. About 110% duty.

5% of the hours the gens run at 900 amps between two gens for the DP system under a 75% duty.

Question 3: Is the intent for the 20 year plan to consist of a schedule of maintenance activities and the operating hours at which the activities occur, or does the contract require in addition to the schedule, a breakdown of the parts used?

Answer 3: The 20 year maintenance schedule should outline the frequency of major, minor, and other periodic maintenance intervals. Parts used would be a beneficial add, however understood getting prices for those parts at this stage would be difficult.

Question 4: Is the labor time used to implement the scheduled maintenance activities to be called out as well?

Answer 4: An estimated time to complete each maintenance activity will allow for a comparison of each qualified manufacturer. The time to complete factor should be expressed in man‐hours, unless the manufacturer is required to perform or be present at said interval.
