STATEMENT OF WORK
STATEMENT OF WORK
Subject: Install government owned furniture into lower building 206, rooms A103, A104, A110, A112, & A115.
Background:
The government owned furniture to be reassembled and installed in rooms A103, A104, A110, A112, and A115 consists of thirty-four (34) Knoll brand and seventeen (17) Pleion brand desks with corresponding partitions and file storage. The furniture was removed from the spaces after water infiltrated the lower floor, damaging the carpet, cove base, walls and ceiling. All furniture and partitions were torn down to manageable pieces and stored in the building 206 high bay. The furniture comprised forty-seven (47) cubicles and four (4) hard walled office suites. Each area was assigned a space number to identify it and all furniture parts and partitions were labelled with the corresponding space number.
Reinstallation Location:
Reinstallation will be executed at Building 206 at NUWC, Keyport, WA.
Scope of Work:
This requirement includes: inspection of furniture pieces and partitions for water damage;
ordering new replacement pieces for damaged ones; reassembly and installation of cubicle partitions and power raceways; reassembly of desks/workstations and file storage for each space identified.
Current state of partitions and furniture:
- In order to expedite the removal of furniture and partitions from the water soaked areas, the government and contractor personnel disassembled all cubicles and offices in affected areas as quickly as possible. The parts and pieces were maintained with the corresponding cubicle as much as could be accommodated, but some pieces were stored separately. Time will need to be spent organizing all of the required pieces for reassembly of each cubicle/office workstation. It was observed during disassembly, that some Knoll cubicles were originally assembled using incorrect connector plates and multiple types of screws. A small percentage of new connector plates and appropriate screws will need to be provided to complete reassembly. Some power whips may need to be replaced due to water damage.
Inspection includes the following:
- A critical survey of laminated surfaces and pressed wood pieces for water damage.
Identify pieces with swelling, discoloration and/or delamination. Inspect all power whips (for Pleion) and power bars (for Knoll) in partitions, to identify water damaged ones
N00253-14-T-0090 requiring replacement prior to installation. Vendor to provide government with list of necessary replacement parts for government concurrence prior to ordering.
Reassembly and installation of partitions with power raceways:
- Install partitions required for each space.
- Ensure working power whips or power bars are installed with power blocks in each partition where existing or required.
- Install all trim pieces for partitions.
Reassembly and installation of desks/workstations and file storage:
- Install all desk surfaces, supports and file storage pieces for each work space identified, including overhead shelving and flipper cabinets.
Post reassembly and installation acceptance will occur after walk through and punchlist items are completed.
