About this file
This document appears to be a set of Questions and Answers related to Solicitation Number N0018924Q0273 for three temperature chambers issued by the Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command.
The key details are: The temperature chambers will use electric, not gas, heat and operate on 120V power. There are no requirements specified for heat up/cool down time or ventilation/evacuation. The chambers will be located in the repair lab with no special security clearance required. The chambers will be used to verify the operation of a metal transducer assembly at desired temperature points, without the need to calculate BTU requirements. This is a solicitation for the actual procurement of the temperature chambers, not a template or appendix.

Questions and Answers
1. Q: Is this room to gas fired or electrical radiant heat?
A: Electric. We don’t have gas lines or an exhaust system to handle gas.
2. Q: If electrical radiant heat what voltage as 120V is not going to work for this temp range?
A: Our current chambers work on 120v with no issue.
3. Q: Is there access to natural or propane gas at site?
A: No
4. Q: Do they have a required Heat up and cool down time range for the room?
A: None specified
5. Q: Is there required ventilation or evacuation of heat in emergency situations?
A: No as the temperature won’t reach dangerous levels in that chamber.
6. Q: Room location at facility and if any security clearance for access to area?
A: It would be in our repair lab and there is no special security clearance requirements.
7. Q: Are we heating liquids, solids and perhaps a relative density to calculate BTU’s?
A: We are heating a transducer which is a metal rectangle shape with a lid and circuit card inside.
With a cannon plug and pressure head. We don’t need to calculate BTU. We only need to verify the transducer works at the desired temperature points.
