STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

1.0 BACKGROUND

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) has a requirement for a High Performance Computing Cluster for performing physics-based computation. This system shall be a distributed memory Linux cluster, tailored to meet the requirements for highly parallel numerical computations of large problems with computational fluid dynamics, finite element and hydrocode software. The system shall also run visualization software for the large data sets produced by the numerical computations as well as mesh generation software to produce large computational meshes for complex geometries. Software to be run on the system includes computational software such as the CTH and ALE3D hydrocodes, Sierra Mechanics multiphysics suite, LSDYNA finite element software and the CRAFT flow solver, as well as VISIT and PARAVIEW visualization software. Candidate systems shall meet all of the following technical requirements.

2.0 APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS

2.1 Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Specifications;

2.2 Linux GPU-Enabled Computing Cluster (Phase I) - System

Specifications (attached)

3.0 REQUIREMENTS

3.1 The vendor shall complete integration and configuration of machine on-site at the NSWCDD, including required software listed in “Linux GPU-Enabled Computing Cluster (Phase I) – System Specifications” document (attached).

3.2 The vendor shall demonstrate the visualization server on a user/client workstation.

3.3 The vendor shall train a NSWCDD representative on the

installation and configuration of the Linux OS, cluster package, visualization server, and clustered file system.

4.0 TRAVEL

The contractor will be required to travel in performance of this contract. The number of trips and types of personnel traveling shall be limited to the minimum required to accomplish work requirements and shall be coordinated with the technical point of contact. All travel shall be conducted in accordance with the FAR 31.205-46, “Travel Costs”, and the Federal Travel Regulations (FTR). The following travel is anticipated: Two

(2) personnel to Dahlgren, VA for five (5) days.

5.0 DATA DELIVERABLES

5.1 The vendor shall provide complete documentation of the

installation and configuration of the Linux operating system and cluster package (CDRL A001);

5.2 The contractor shall provide documentation for all hardware included (CDRL A003).
