SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION SF 1449 - CONTINUATION SHEET

SOLICITATION/CONTRACT FORM

The required response date/time has changed from 06-Sep-2016 11:00 AM to 08-Sep-2016 10:00 AM.

The following have been added by full text:

2ND TECHNICAL QUESTIONS/ANSWER

1. The solicitation states that the system shall be capable of operating on 240V AS/3 phase/ 60Hz. This is possible and will require the additional supply of a transformer to convert the voltage from 240V to 440V as a few pumps require the higher voltage. Is it possible that the ship provide 440V supply as this will reduce the cost of the unit?

-- The system will be operated from an area of the ship that has 240VAC, 3 phase, 60 Hz and requires that capability as part of the system.

2. The solicitation requires effluent discharge pressure at a minimum of 15 ft head. The solicitation does not address the discharge of the biowaste sludge. Can this be clarified?

-- The sludge has the same requirement of a minimum of 15 ft head.

3. The solicitation requires all interface connections to be NPT. There are some small connections (1/2") that can be supplied as NPT as well as some of the larger. There is a vent that is 4" that would be questionable as NPT.

Is the NPT a final requirement or will there be an allowance for small and/or larger pipe diameters?

-- The NPT is a final requirement.

4. It may make sense for the Supplier to provide the vent piping. Has the Owner defined this requirement regarding height of vent discharge? If Owner provides specifications, this can be provided.

-- The system will be located on deck, so 1 ft above the container should be sufficient.

5. Can the Owner provide some guidance as to the length the the testing that is foreseen?

-- The length of testing will be variable, from a few weeks to a few months to a year. The goal is to operate permanently, if testing is successful.

6. Is there any influent number for TSS or the other metrics they will be measuring for the effluent?

-- The effluent metrics are those from USCG 33CFR159.301, MEPC.227(64) and Alaska DEC general permit number 2013DB0004, as indicated in the solicitation specification. At a minimum, the MEPC influent TSS can be used.
