ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS
Industry Questions for N00164-20-Q-JQ68
1. Will the Government accept sample sights in a color other than black?
Response: Bid Samples should be representative of final production units. If other color provided as samples then written proposal should indicate correct color would be available.
2. Should a Shock counter be embedded on the sight?
Response: Shock counter is an objective, if included in samples, it will be used to collect data to further refine future requirements for shock counters on MG.
3. How will the samples relate to the three different platforms?
Response: Samples must have reticles that are tuned to the performance of the weapon system that the sample is attached to. The target weapon platforms are; M2 .50 Cal. MG, M240 7.62 MG and the MK44 7.62 rotary MG.
4. Are rail mounts needed for any of the weapon systems? If so, which ones.
Response: Performance Specification requires the sample have a 12 O’clock rail.
5. Can a vendor submit 2 product samples of the MMO with 0.50cal reticle (Without a mount) & 2 product samples of the MMO with 7.62mm reticle (No mount needed) as their 4 samples?
Response: The product samples shall be identical in configuration.
6. Will a DCMA Source Inspection be required if the Inspection point of the Delivery Order is
DESTINATION?
Response: Statement of Work 3.3.2 is correct. Inspect at Origin (DCMA) and final acceptance at Destination. Amendment 0002 corrects this error.
7. On CLIN 0001 it states for the CSWO to include a lanyard. Is this referencing a lanyard for the battery cap or a lanyard to attach the CSWO to the host weapon?
Response: See Statement of Work
8. Does the Government need a M1913 rail adapter for the M2A1with the product sample, or will the Government utilize existing M1913 rail mounts/adapters for the M2A1?
Response: Performance Specification paragraph 1.3, M2A1 using ancillary Tri-rail mount (attaches to the weapons feed tray cover) 1005-01-530-0647. These mounts will be on the weapons being used for testing.
