QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Technical Questions concerning this procurement shall be submitted in writing no later than 2:00 PM EST on 7 September 2018.

QUESTION:

Items 1 & 7 under section 3.1 of the SOW (Part #’s M24235/1-005 & M24235/2-036) both would end up with excess parts due to the modification of the stuffing tube. Should the quantities be based on only one half of the tube being populated?

ANSWER:

Yes

QUESTION:

For the Grommet under M24235/2-036, which material is required? Specification states parts list should indicate either N or S for neoprene or silicone.

ANSWER:

Neoprene is required

QUESTION:

The modified statement of work changes item # 3 (plastic protective cap) from M24231/14-011 to M24231/12-

011. As there is no M24231/12 receptacles being utilized on this SOW is this an error?

ANSWER:

This was an error. The required plastic protective cap has the same P/N as the brass pressure proof cap (M24231/14-011). When ordering you have to specify if you want plastic or brass.

QUESTION:

Revision discrepancy between Rev D and E on M24231. I do not see anything specific that alters any requirements between the 2 revisions however I feel like it should probably be mentioned due to paperwork requirements. The SOW states MIL-DTL-24231 Rev E Sup 1 and the Drawing 8338916 Rev – states MIL-C-24231/14D

ANSWER:

Drawing will be updated to reference M24231/14 REV E

QUESTION:

In addition, we are struggling to get a quote on the GE connectors as Delphi has been taken over by APTIV TTI and proven to be very unresponsive.

ANSWER:

The Government has no control over contractors obtaining quotes

QUESTION:

In the SOW it calls out First Article qualification requiring a Hydrostatic Pressure Test. Is this to be done with a pressure proof cap or will an insert be provided?

ANSWER:

An insert will be provided for Hydrostatic Pressure Testing
