About this file

This is a Molecular Testing Platform Specification Sheet for SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University (SUNY-DHSU) Clinical Laboratory in New York. SUNY-DHSU is seeking to procure a molecular testing platform for pathogen detection and identification for use in the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory, along with an associated five-year service agreement. The platform must support FDA-approved assays for testing multiple pathogens including Herpes simplex virus (HSV) 1 & 2, Varicella zoster virus (VZV), Cytomegalovirus (CMV), and Candida auris directly from various clinical specimens including cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, urine, and swabs. The equipment must achieve an assay runtime of two hours, process a minimum capacity of eight samples simultaneously, and meet strict physical specifications: maximum dimensions of 12" height by 12" width by 12" depth with a maximum weight of 30 pounds. The platform must be compatible with Cerner Laboratory Information System (LIS) connectivity and operate on standard 110V electrical power.

The five-year service agreement is mandatory and must include toll-free customer service availability Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time, 48-hour replacement service with shipping included, annual instrument recertification and preventive maintenance, all repair service and parts costs, preventive maintenance at manufacturer-recommended intervals, required software upgrades, and a loaner unit during extended downtime periods. No incumbent vendors have been awarded identical or substantially similar contracts within the past five years. No contract set-asides for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOB), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Women Business Enterprise (WBE), or Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goals are specified for this procurement.
