USMMA Uninterruptable Power System (UPS) and Battery Replacement Questions & Answers

Question 1: What is the exact kVA of each UPS?

Answer 1: The kVA is incorporated into the information which is provided in the specification document (Ex. Model # and Serial #) and attached in the solicitation.

Question 2: What is the exact make, model, and quantity of the batteries in each UPS?

Answer 2: The batteries are Mitsubishi. The exact make, model, and quantity of the batteries are spelled out in the specification document and attached in the solicitation.

Question 3: What are the pre-existing conditions and or alarms for Barry Hall “0” Deck?

Answer 3: The pre- existing conditions will need to be assessed by a qualified and certified contractor capable of repairing the equipment in question.

Question 4: Please define additional trouble shooting and service?

Answer 4: This is alarm condition; the Academy will require servicing of equipment in alarm mode. This will need to be performed by a contractor certified to troubleshoot the equipment in question.

Question 5: Can a trailer or city truck access your facility (i.e. height restrictions)?

Answer 5: Trucks of all kinds can access the facility. Routes are up to the discretion of the contractor.

Question 6: Do you have a loading/receiving dock? If yes, is your dock standard 48"?

Answer 6: There is a loading or receiving (area) ground access.

Question 7: Does your facility have a freight elevator? If No, how many flights of stairs or number of stairs are there to final delivery point?

Answer 7: The facility does not have an elevator. All equipment is on the ground level or first floor.

Question 8: Are there any obstruction such as doorways, narrow passageways, carpets, stairs, etc. that would necessitate special handling equipment?

Answer 8: The equipment is located in secured rooms as per code. Stairs could be a minor factor; hallways standard, no carpet.
