About this file
This memorandum from the Federal Bureau of Prisons outlines the need to repair the emergency generator at the Camp compound of the Federal Correctional Complex Coleman in Florida. Without a functioning emergency generator, should main power from the local utility be lost, the entire Camp compound including warehouses, facilities, and food service freezers and refrigerators would be without power. This could result in environmental issues such as sewage backup. Additionally, vehicles and equipment would be unable to operate and receive fuel. Hot water and air conditioning would also be unavailable across the Camp. On February 8, 2024, the Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons Federal Correctional Complex Coleman awarded a contract valued at $118,031.94 to Ring Power Corporation to repair the 1180 kW Caterpillar emergency generator at the Camp compound to restore emergency backup power capabilities.
