About this file

This document is a business correspondence letter dated December 2, 2022, from MedImpact Healthcare Systems to Renee Uliassi, the Statewide Procurement Manager at the Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA). The letter notifies the state procurement office about an upcoming change in the company's direct mail pharmacy service, specifically that MedImpact Direct Mail® pharmacy will transition to Birdi pharmacy effective December 9, 2022.

The letter clarifies that while the pharmacy name is changing, the operational aspects will remain consistent. Birdi is a licensed pharmacy within the MedImpact network, not owned by or a subcontractor of MedImpact. The existing MedImpact Direct Mail® pharmacy staff will join the Birdi pharmacy team, and ADOA members will continue to work with the same team using the same contact information. Mail-order prescriptions will now be labeled with Birdi as the dispensing pharmacy, and the MedImpact Call Center will continue to support the mail order program, with only minor changes to the IVR and greeting to reflect the new pharmacy name.

DECEMBER 2, 2022

Dear Ms. Uliassi, Starting December 9, 2022, MedImpact Direct Mail® pharmacy becomes Birdi pharmacy. However, MedImpact Healthcare Systems (“MedImpact”) will continue to utilize the MedImpact Direct Mail® name for the mail order program. On and after December 9, 2022, MedImpact Direct Mail® will no longer refer to the licensed pharmacy but will refer to MedImpact’s mail order PBM services, including the mail order pharmacy network.

From a contractual aspect, Birdi is a licensed pharmacy in the MedImpact network of pharmacies and has a provider agreement in place with MedImpact as a network pharmacy; Birdi is not owned by MedImpact, nor is a subcontractor of MedImpact.

From an operational aspect, the MedImpact Direct Mail® pharmacy staff will be joining the Birdi pharmacy team. ADOA and its members will continue to work with the same team using the same contact information. Beginning 12/9/2022, any mail-order prescription fulfilled by Birdi will list Birdi on the prescription label as the dispensing pharmacy. All current MedImpact Direct utilizing members have been made aware of this change. The MedImpact Call Center will continue to support the MedImpact Direct Mail Order program; the IVR and greeting will change from MedImpact Direct to Birdi.

SINCERELY,

Erin Russell
