Appliances shall consist of the following: electric washers and electric dryers. The following information is provided:
(1) Appliances to be serviced are listed in, Technical Exhibit 7.
(2) Historical workloads are contained in, Technical Exhibit 4.
(3) Maximum Repair Allowance (MRA) for each type of appliance is contained in, Technical
Exhibit 6.

Government permit, orders may provide a longer time for delivery.
d. The technical specifications herein define the quality of maintenance and repair work to be accomplished under this contract. Where a specification is not directed, the Contractor shall perform maintenance and repair work to meet customs and practices of the trade and appliance manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations.
e. The Government reserves the right to acquire appliance repair services in additional buildings and for additional machines within the geographical area of Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) and other outline areas.
2. DEFINITIONS – TECHNICAL
If a task defined below encompasses other tasks also defined below, then the contractor shall submit charges only for the more inclusive task. For example, although cleaning may be separately chargeable, if a bench check is also performed, the cleaning shall be provided free of charge.
a. APPLIANCES: Appliances shall consist of the following: clothes dryer & clothes washer. See Technical
Exhibit 7, for the listing of appliances.
b. APPLIANCE SERVICING: Work required to keep appliance in such condition that it is operational and may be continuously used safely for its intended purpose at its designated capacity or efficiency. Service is initiated by service calls.
c. BENCH CHECK (TEST): The purpose of the bench check is to ascertain the condition or serviceability of an appliance when it is unknown. The bench check consists of all actions necessary to thoroughly inspect government-furnished appliances to ensure that they are serviceable and in good operational condition in accordance with the manufacturer’s standards. The bench-check also includes any necessary cleaning. Generally, bench checks include physical hook-up, plug-in running appliances through all cycles, diagnosing malfunctions and documenting findings. Unless otherwise approved by the COR, bench checks are conducted in the shop. Actions necessary in the quarters to hook-up, install and check operability are considered operational checks rather than bench checks and are normal tasks associated with repair requests.
d. CLEANING: Shall consist of actions necessary to make an appliance free of dirt, dust, mildew, bugs, food particles, lint, grease, cleaning solution, cleaning marks, and other foreign matter on all interior and exterior surfaces and be suitable for immediate use. Cleaning is usually accomplished as part of a bench test or shop repair, but may be ordered as a separate item for cleaning only.

l. OPERATIONAL CHECK (Op Check): Operational Check differs from a bench check insofar as it is not a diagnostic check whose aim is to troubleshoot or isolate malfunctions. The purpose of the op check is to ensure that a presumed operational appliance is, in fact, operational. Op checks are generally performed coincident to: (a) completion of repairs in the field or the repair facility. Other events may give rise to the need for op checks. Op check includes, physically hooking-up, plugging-in and running the appliance through cycles. No additional charge is associated with an op check. The op check is considered part of the underlying specific task (i.e. repair, etc.)
