About this file
This memorandum provides justification for limiting competition under the simplified acquisition threshold for a training contract with Technology Applications Group, Inc. The contract will be for Tagnite masking and immersion anodize coating training for Corpus Christi Army Depot artisans, for both new and recovered parts. The period of performance is one base year plus one option year, with an estimated value of $172,000. The justification cites FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), indicating that TAG is the only responsible source as they own the proprietary rights to the Tagnite chemicals, rectifier waveform, and process developed for this application. Market research found no other qualified vendors. The contracting officer certification approves this justification to limit competition subject to funds availability, with the requirement having otherwise been authorized for acquisition.
The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from the Department of the Army Materiel Command Contracting Command Redstone Arsenal for the Tagnite masking and immersion training. No deadline or award date is provided.
