About this file

This is a User & Profile Maintenance Guide for the City of Long Beach's Long Beach Buys procurement platform, powered by Periscope. The guide provides comprehensive instructions for Seller Administrators responsible for managing vendor accounts within the system. The document outlines three primary maintenance functions: adding new users, maintaining existing users, and managing organizational information including addresses and commodity codes. There are no specific project timelines, response dates, or contract terms outlined, as this is an operational manual rather than a solicitation document.

The guide details role-based access controls, including Seller and Seller Administrator designations with corresponding permissions. New users are assigned temporary system-generated passwords upon creation, with administrators required to communicate login credentials. Existing users can be inactivated, have passwords reset, or have their roles modified through straightforward administrative processes. The address maintenance section allows vendors to add multiple address types (such as general mailing or bid mailing addresses) with complete contact details, while the commodity codes section enables vendors to search for and select applicable NIGP commodity codes to receive relevant bid notifications. No pricing information, set-asides, funding sources, or contract award details are specified in this administrative guidance document.
