About this file
This sole source justification document identifies laboratory accreditation services from the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) as the required source. Specifically, the Federal Highway Administration requires AASHTO accreditation services from the AASHTO Materials Reference Laboratory for its Central Materials Laboratory in Sevierville, Tennessee. This sole source acquisition is justified as AASHTO is the sole provider of these accreditation services, which are necessary for the laboratory to comply with AASHTO and federal standards for construction materials testing laboratories. The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from the Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration for AASHTO accreditation and inspection services.
