Text version

48" v2

The shelving should be metal with adjustable/removeable shelving to accommodate larger and irregular shaped boxes weighing no more than about 50 pounds each. The proposal would be for 5 carriage units that move which are 48" deep consisting of shelving sections that are 36" or 48" long within each carriage unit comprising adjustable shelves for differnent sizing configurations within each section. A 24" deep shelving unit, that is stationary, will be at both ends of the carriage units, with the same sections and shelving requirements. The shelving rows can be a maximum of 14'10" long so as not to extend onto tiled flooring. The carriage units are moveable by a three-handled operating wheel placed in or near the center of the end of each carriage row, consisting of some type of safety lock to prevent unnecessary or inadvertent movement of the shelving. Additionally, the shelving should incorporate some sort of anti-tipping measures due to the type, size and weight of individual storage material and any seismic anomalies. The current flooring to be used is concrete and measures 28'2" or 338" long by 14'10" or 178" wide. The aisle space would be approximately 50 inches across all rows when opened up which would comply with current ADA standards. Requesting that the shelving extend to a height of 8'7" or 103" tall, which would leave a 4 inch gap between the top of the shelves and the ceiling, leaving room for the sprinklers, motion sensors and provide ambient lighting.
