SOLICITATION# HT9404-12-Q-0066
Liquid Gases – Liquid Nitrogen, Liquid Argon
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
1. In ref to the above sol please indicate how large is the liquid nitrogen tanks at the USUHS and the AFFRI locations in liters.
Answer: Liquid nitrogen = approximately 5700 liters per tank. Liquid argon = 230 liters per tank.
2. In order to prepare a response to solicitation HT9404-12-Q-0066, respectfully request the purity/grade requirements for the liquid nitrogen and liquid argon.
Answer: 100% Liquid Nitrogen and 100% Liquid Argon
3. a) We respectfully request a site visit prior to quoting.
Answer: A site visit has not been necessary to obtain quotes in previous years for this requirement. What information do you need, in order to provide a quote, which cannot be answered verbally? Please email clarinda.washington@usuhs.mil and answers to your questions will be answered expedited.
b) Also, in order to quote and due to the Holiday we would need an extension for the close date:
Answer: This solicitation will be posted for 11.5 days, from June 27, 2012 through July 9, 2012. This is a sufficient amount of response time, given that the previous solicitation was also publicly posted for 11 days (April 16, 2009 through April 27, 2009), and an extension was not required.
c) In addition, Please,
1) Confirm if the bulk nitrogen tanks are government or contractor owned
Answer: Government owned
2) Confirm tank size(s) at each location
Answer: 1,500 Gallon Liquid Nitrogen tanks at each location and 230 L Liquid Argon Dewars at AFRRI
3) Confirm purity requirements for the nitrogen and argon, specifically is the nitrogen requirement medical grade Answer: The liquid nitrogen will be used in the laboratory environment and there are no special (grade) requirements for the liquid nitrogen.
