REQUEST FOR QUOTE HSFLAR-16-Q-00042

QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES

Question: Could you please clarify which buildings/rooms require internet service?

Response: One room only, Bldg. 5, Room 207. Reference Item 0002 in the solicitation.

Question: Is there existing internet service (wire or wireless in these facilities)?

Response: Under this solicitation, internet service is only required in one room only as identified in the response above.

Question: May the contractor also offer subscriber based Wi-Fi internet services in all dormitory and lodging facilities as a value added feature:

Response: This is not required under this solicitation.

Question: Please provide us with complete plant diagram of the coax infrastructure for the site.

Also provide details related to the frequencies in use, amp ratings and locations, etc.

Response: Coax, main lines, riser cables and electronics are provided by the current contractor, PVT Networks.

Question: Is the cable plant all tied together in one head-end or split between newer and older infrastructure?

Response: There are multiple feeds from various buildings going to the street. It comes onto Federal property at one location and splits underground to different buildings.

Question: Please indicate current head-end/s on the site plan.

Response: There are no head ends on site. Cable TV services enter Federal property at the hand hole on the south side of the campus. There is no head end in any buildings. All cable is located underground until it reaches its prospective buildings.

Question: What Building # is room 207 in?

Response: Reference the Room Listing attached to the solicitation.

Question: How does #207 currently get internet access? Does this building have an internet circuit demark? Does the internet service in #207 have to be wired Ethernet or could it be Wi-Fi?

Response: This service is currently provided by the current contractor and is not Wi-Fi.

Question: What Building # is room 263 and 236 in?

Response: Reference the Room Listing attached to the solicitation.

Question: Are there preferred locations for satellite dish mounts? (Preferably near the head-end on a flat roof)

Response: Preference is not on a roof, flat or pitched. Roof mounted leads to roof leaks and maintenance issues.

Question: As-built drawings for each building requiring tv or internet.

Response: Prior to sending these drawings, it is required that offerors requesting this information complete the attached Non-Disclosure Agreement and return to email cynthia.ybarra@fletc.dhs.gov with the offeror’s email address provided. A copy of the drawings will then be sent via email to the POC identified on the form.

Question: Is there any existing or available fiber optic cabling between buildings?

Response: No. There is no available fiber optic cabling for cable TV use; however, there are pathways to most if not all affected buildings.
