Questions and Answers for HSFE09-16-I-0002 Site Visit

1. Will prevailing wages be required?

a. The work for this requirement falls under Davis-Bacon and Related Acts, apply to contractors and subcontractors performing on federally funded or assisted contracts in excess of $2,000 for the construction, alteration, or repair (including painting and decorating) of public buildings or public works. Davis-Bacon Act and Related Act contractors and subcontractors must pay their laborers and mechanics employed under the contract no less than the locally prevailing wages and fringe benefits for corresponding work on similar projects in the area. The wage determinations website (www. wdol.gov) will be used to determine the prevailing wage.

2. What color paint is required?

a. Paint shall match the prevailing paint color currently in the more recently updated conference room space. There is a sample of paint available for color matching.

3. The A/C unit in the reception area should be trimmed out to cover the transition are between the wallpaper being retained there and the new A/C that will be installed.

4. Will the space be completely vacated for the removal and painting work?

a. The project will need to be done in phases so that operations in the space can continue. The timeline for phases will be worked out after contract award. For instance, the four front office may need to be completed first and then used to move people into while the other sections are done. The Annex area can be used for staging and seating people also.

b. All wall decorations, electronics, and other surface items will be removed from walls and desks. The contractor is responsible for moving any/all furniture to gain access to wallpaper for removal and painting.

5. Will wallpaper be reinstalled?

a. No, the requirement is to remove the current wallpaper as indicated on the diagram, smooth/finish/skim, and apply 2-coats of paint.

6. Will measurements be provided?

a. A diagram with measurements has been uploaded to FBO.

7. Is there any wood work maintenance/improvement included?

a. There is one area in the IT room that needs to have the wood paneling fixed.

b. All other paneling and woodwork is not being addressed/improved at this time.

8. When do you anticipate work starting?

a. Due to coordination with the A/C replacement vendor and moving employees, work is anticipated to start October 2016.
