Solicitation No. HSCG85-14-R-P45P84

Temporary Berthing & Messing for CGC MIDGETT (WHEC 276)

Amendment No. 0001

The purpose of this amendment is as follows:

a.

The answers to the following Request for Clarification are as follows:

QUESTION NO. 1:

Contractor has few options for keeping all the rooms at one hotel. Will Coast Guard entertain the option of splitting the rooms?

ANSWER: Having one hotel for berthing the whole crew of CGC MIDGETT is ideal.

However, providing two hotels for the berth the whole crew is also acceptable. Contractors are reminded that the berthing facilities must meet the requirements outlined in the specification and the solicitation.

QUESTION NO. 2:

Contractor has provided the Coast Guard lodging and meals in the past and usually crew will eat together. Since this is such a large crew can you please let us know if this will be the case for this requirement as well or will they be going in shifts:

ANSWER: The short answer is yes to both. Because of the duty sections and requirement for ship’s force to be opened to inspect/monitor work, crew cannot eat together all the time. It will be in shifts likely for the morning and evening, but lunch can be served together.

b.

The following requirements are added to the solicitation:

(1) Add at least 1 more option for dining within the shipyard facility in the Fairhaven area, specifically for lunches. This is needed because it will provide a cheap, quick option for the CGC MIDGETT crew so as not to disrupt the workday too much.

(2) Add a breakfast option, full services before 5:30 A.M., seven (7) days a week. Restaurant(s) must be located approximately .5 miles from the hotel. This especially applies for the inspectors and duty section personnel, who need to be aboard CGC MIDGETT no later than 6:30 A.M.

(3) For messing, gift card/credit card for meals provided to the crew is not acceptable. Offeror must make arrangement with restaurants for payment of meals.

c.

All other terms and conditions cited on the solicitation will remain unchanged.
