• Question: For the level IIIA Frag Rating Soft Armor - Please specify what level of fragmentation resistance the vest has to meet.
o Answer: The protection level the IIIA has to meet would be up to 9mm or 357mag. These standards for body armor comes from the US National Institute of Justice (NIJ).
• Question: Version 5 2. Composite metal Hard ballistic plates (pair) - Please clarify the requirements for the plates. The specifications that are listed cannot be achieved.
o Answer: We believe the issue here is the weight requirement. The plate we currently have to meet this requirement is more like 6-7 lbs. The thickness of the plate and ballistic protection listed is accurate though.
