About this file
This document contains a justification for a single source brand name acquisition of additional Edwards Hemosphere Advanced Monitoring systems. The Network Contracting Office 6 of the Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a new firm-fixed-price contract to the original equipment manufacturer or authorized distributor to procure more equipment that provides comprehensive hemodynamics and tissue oximetry monitoring. The additional systems are required to maintain standardization of equipment used at the Durham VAMC for patient care and are only compatible with the incumbent equipment already in place. Market research determined the requirement is only available from the single source as an open market solicitation would not meet the government's needs.
