This is a DoDEA Pacific synopsis for commercial items. This is not a request for proposals. No additional information will be provided at this time.
The Department of Defense Education Activity-Pacific (DoDEA Pacific) is responsible for supporting the Department of Defense Education Activity mission in Guam, Korea, Okinawa, and mainland Japan. The DoDEA Pacific organization comprises 44 schools, four District Offices, and the Pacific Director’s Office and provides pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade education to approximately 24,000 students. The DoDEA Pacific Information Technology Division provides all information technology management, services, and support to the schools, District Offices, and the Pacific Director’s Office.
The DoDEA Pacific Information Technology (Pacific IT) Division manages, directs, and oversees all planning, support, and operations for all aspects of the DoDEA Pacific information technology domain. The Pacific IT Division maintains a US Government employee staff at the DoDEA Pacific Director’s Office and also manages computer field support personnel at the schools and District Offices. The computer field support personnel, known as Administrative Technologists (AT), provide direct support to end-users, end-user computing device management, and rudimentary system administration at the schools and District Offices. None of the services described in this scope of work will be physically performed in the territory of Guam.
The contractor shall provide all necessary personnel, supervision, management, materials, services, equipment and facilities (except such materials, equipment and facilities provided by the government) required to perform the information technology support services described in this Draft Performance Work Statement for the schools and facilities located in Korea, Okinawa, and mainland Japan, including the DoDEA Pacific Director’s Office (DPDO).
The contractor shall provide all Information Technology (IT) services identified in the attached Draft PWS. Services to be performed fall into the following main areas:
Administrative Technologist (AT) Support DoDEA Pacific Director’s Office Administrative Technologist (AT) Support Enterprise Deployment Management Services - Windows Enterprise Deployment Management Services - Apple/Mac (90%)/MS SQL DBA (10%)
Period of Performance will be 1 October 2013 – 30 September 2017 (base period with four 12-month option periods).
This acquisition will be solicited as a full and open competitive procurement using the procedures in FAR Part 12 - Commercial Items and FAR Part 15 - Contracting by Negotiations.
Industry Day / Pre-Solicitation Conference: DoDEA Pacific will be holding an Industry Day / Pre-Solicitation Conference January 15-16, 2013. The Industry Day will include individual meetings with each registered vendor to introduce their organization and to offer feedback regarding the Draft PWS. All interested vendors are encouraged to attend this pre-solicitation conference.
All potential offerors will have an opportunity to submit questions during the Pre-Solicitation Conference and after the solicitation has been issued. This announcement constitutes the synopsis; a separate written solicitation is anticipated to be issued no later than March 26, 2013.

All vendors interested in attending Industry Day/Pre-Solicitation Conference are required to RSVP in WRITING their intention to participate no later than 1500 hours JST January 8, 2013. Requests must include the name of the company and the full name, title, and e-mail address of the personnel attending. Please note there will be a limit of 3 personnel per company.
Also, as the meetings will take place on a military installation, please annotate if any personnel will require escorting on base. If any personnel attending are third country nationals, their information must be submitted no later than December 28, 2012. All information shall be e-mailed to the Contract Specialist: aaron.west@pac.dodea.edu.
All vendors who respond to the RSVP by January 8, 2013 will be assigned an allotted time frame for individual meetings on either the 15th or 16th of January. The time allotted for individual meetings will be determined by the number of interested vendors in order to ensure that all vendors receive equal time slots.
