Product Description Naval Special Warfare Command Rack Storage Platform

1.0 OBJECTIVE:

1.1 The contractor shall furnish and install one (1) freestanding rack storage platform in Bldg (3842) high bay.

1.2 The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, tools, materials, equipment, transportation and disposal necessary to provide and install the rack storage system. All materials used must match exactly to existing installations to maintain a professional appearance.

2.0 BACKGROUND:

· Additional storage space is required within the existing high bay of Building 3842. Existing building configuration does not support adequate storage space, enablers/augments, and all required operational gear. There are currently four (4) high storage cages in the high bay. One (1) 40 foot x 12 foot and three (3) 20 foot x 12 foot storage cages.

· Attachment 2 to the Request for Quote (RFQ) shows where the cages are placed in the high bay.

· This requirement is to increase the capacity and flat storage space within the high bay.

· This platform will cover the length of the high bay in between the two garage doors on either end. This requirement is for a rack storage platform over the current storage cages.

· The addition of this rack storage platform will allow for indoor and secure storage of equipment, while increasing flat storage capacity in the high bay. The addition of above describes storage spaces allows for personnel to properly stow and secure all operational equipment.

3.0 DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT:

3.1 The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, tools, materials, equipment, transportation and disposal necessary to provide and install the rack storage platform. All steel used must be phosphate washed and finished in a gray powder coat to protect against salt water and corrosion.

3.2 The contractor shall provide drawings of proposed installation in their quote in response to the solicitation.

3.3 The contractor shall make the necessary and temporary modifications to existing storage cages in order to install the rack storage platform.

3.4 Installation Requirements:

3.4.1 A laydown area for contractor use will be identified by the requiring activity representative prior to start of installation.

3.4.2 Installation shall be conducted on weekdays during the hours to be established by the unit.

3.4.3 If for any reason, contractor/supplier is unable to complete the assembly and placement of all unloaded items before the end of the workday, the contractor/supplier shall be responsible for moving these items to the designated laydown area until the next available installation date.

3.5 The contractor shall provide and install one (1) freestanding rack storage platform over the top of the existing storage cages in the high bay with the following:

3.5.1 Platform Dimensions: 132ft 6in Length x 13ft Depth x 13ft Height.

3.5.2 Configuration: The contractor shall configure the platform with the following specifications. Minor deviations to the below are allowable but must adhere to the size in the cage dimensions as well as design and weight bearing capacity for the platform.

3.5.2.1 Load Capacity: 150 P.S.F. for general storage.

3.5.2.2 Deck Height: 12 ft.

3.5.2.3 Flooring: 1in x 1/8 in 19W4 painted steel bar grating.

3.5.2.4 Framing: Structural steel.

3.5.2.5 Handrail: 2 Rail, Removable Type.

3.5.2.6 Two (2) all welded vertical rung ladders at each end of platform.

3.5.2.7 Standard finish, main structure: Gray powder coat. Hand Railing: Safety Yellow Finish. The powder coat shall match existing storage cages.

3.0DELIVERY INFORMATION.
3.1Required delivery date: 45 days ARO

3.2 Delivery address: Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek, Fort Story, Virginia Beach, VA

4.0 SECURITY: N/A

5.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE: The Government reserves the right to perform inspections and surveillance to evaluate the Contractor’s compliance to the contract terms to include proper delivery of quantity and type of goods. The Government will make every effort to ensure that the surveillance methods used are conducted in an objective, fair, and consistent manner.
