INTRODUCING CI TRAVEL (*)

EXPERIENCE:

CI Travel is classified as a small business under the Small Business Administration standards. Although small by definition, CI Travel is one of the largest TMCs in the country. The company is headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia with a second large reservation center in Portland, Oregon and other offices spread throughout the country. At CI Travel has spent over fifty (50) years helping businesses and travelers navigate their way to success.

Our support of Government CTOs and TMCs began thirty‐seven (37) years ago in 1985 when CI Travel was awarded the Southeastern Virginia GSA contract. Management of Government travel continues uninterrupted today with contracts with GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) 561510, the eTS contractors and many others.

As the company has evolved, so have business travelers’ expectations and the need to support the traveler with improved technology. CI Travel has been an active participant in the evolution of online booking technology and remains diligent in incorporating the latest advances into our clients’ programs. When the Department of Defense decided to consolidate the management of new military recruit travel (MEPS) from four vendors operating under six contracts into a single contract and vendor, CI Travel was chosen and created a single, consistent, booking process with its own proprietary automated booking tool to accomplish the change. The result was a significant reduction in the labor required to support the contract and contract pricing that passed along the savings to the government earning the company recognition as an innovative and solutions‐oriented vendor.

STAFFING

Technology alone is not enough to support an effective travel program. CI Travel believes that its people are as much the differentiator as the technology it employs. Our agents have significant experience consulting with business and government travelers. They understand the nuances of the authorization and approval processes that surround travel and have developed an effective and efficient system of fulfilling travel.

Continuing education is a critical component to the success of CI Travel’s staff; training classes are routinely given to new and experienced personnel alike at a multi‐station GDS‐equipped training facility. All travel counselors receive ongoing training on the Global Distribution System (GDS) via updates, shortcuts, and weekly/monthly staff meetings

TECHNOLOGY

CI Travel maintains a complete inventory of all computer systems, software licenses, peripherals, and network hardware utilized. CI Travel’s network provides redundancy at the hardware, data transport and power layer to address Fault Tolerance and Disaster recovery concerns. CI Travel has made arrangements with several vendors to provide a quick response should CI Travel suffer a catastrophic loss of our core technology infrastructure. CI Travel maintains and tests annually our business continuity and disaster recovery plans; both are available at your request.

SAVINGS

CI Travel also has corporate and leisure businesses in addition to its government business.

Because of this added volume, CI Travel has capabilities which benefit the government travel program. As an example, to support these divisions, CI Travel has a human resources department to recruit and train staff and monitor regulations concerning personnel issues.

Also, as one of an elite group of Travel Management Companies certified by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), CI Travel actively supports GSA's travel policies through a continuous quest for techniques and technologies that will maximize the efficiency of federal agency travel in both hard and soft dollars.

One of an elite group of Travel Management Companies certified by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), CI Travel actively supports GSA's travel policies through a continuous quest for techniques and technologies that will maximize the efficiency of federal agency travel in both hard and soft dollars.

ARC (Airline Reporting Corporation) provides CI Travel with business process and financial management tools and powerful data and analytics. Nearly 16,000 travel agencies and 190 airlines use ARC’s settlement services. ARC is the travel industry’s gold standard of accreditation.

IATAN (International Airlines Travel Agent Network) promotes professionalism, administers meaningful and impartial business standards, and provides cost‐effective products and services that benefit the travel industry.

CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) is the world´s largest cruise association and is dedicated to the promotion and growth of the cruise industry.

Coupled with letters of commendation by the U.S. State Department and Commander, Air Force Materiel Command and from the Columbia Accident Investigation Board; letters of appreciation and recognition from NASA; letters of commendation and appreciation from Wright‐Patterson AFB; show that CI Travel is held in high regard as a leader among Government travel service providers.
