See RFI responses in RED below Other errors noted in plans by project manager:
-SmithGroup plan North arrow is incorrect. Follow the Brenner Design plans for North direction.
-Brenner Design drawing, FP 2.1 - Note 1 is incorrect. Removed sprinklers will NOT be reused.
Additional specification clarification:
-Motion sensor example specification: Leviton, OSCxxx-MoW.
An example cut-sheet has been provided from GSA's O&M contractor & is attached.
It is contractor's responsibility to ensure correct model is selected for each application.
1) There will be 25 fire sprinkler heads to be added to the current system. Were calculations of the system done and will the system allow for them? What tests/requirements will there be for the fire system to return to service?
A licensed engineering firm located the sprinkler heads.
Thoroughly read the specifications.
2) On page 1 of the Proposal Meeting Agenda that was posted to FBO on 1/21/16 it states that Offerors are to include “Line Item Pricing Schedule – Three (3) copies of completed documents for Base and Options,” however, there was no Line Item Pricing Schedule sheet provided in the original RFP. Please clarify if we are to include a pricing schedule in the proposal package and, if so, please provide a Line Item Pricing Schedule.
All pricing should be noted on the SF Form 1442. Additionally, MasterFormat breakdown should be submitted.
3) What is the manufacturer and catalog numbers for the 2x2 and 2x4 volumetric light fixtures?
Fixtures are Cooper
- Metalux, accord series. An example cut-sheet has been provided from GSA's O&M contractor.
4 ) What is the manufacturer and catalog numbers for the EXIT light fixtures?
Match existing.
See attached photo. Fixtures are clear plaques with green font.
5) Please specify Plastic or Stainless Steel (other) Wall Plates?
6) The exterior of this building is curtain wall, how do you access for additions of new power and data outlets? From under floor?
Building utilizes 'Walker Ducts'. Thoroughly read the specifications.
7) Do existing panels RP-G1, RP-G1 already have Isolated Ground bus installed or do they need this installed, drawings seem to indicate both.
Yes. They are existing. See photos.
8 If we are to install the isolated ground buss, can the new Isolated Ground from the 75 KVA Transformer to panels RP-G1 and RP-G2 be ran in a separate raceway from the existing Power, Neutral, and Electrical Ground Conductors or does it have to be in the same raceway as those?
Isolated grounds are existing. Reference National Electrical Code for direction.
9) The Electrical Plans (SmithGroup JJR Drawings E8, E9, & E10 or ENVerity Drawing E3.1) are quite different? It appears that we should use the SmithGroup drawings for the Modular Furniture and Interview Windows and the ENVerity drawings for the housekeeping and temporary reception areas. Can this be clarified more?
This is correct and was specifically addressed at the Pre-Bid Meeting.
10) The existing lighting control system is not well defined. It could be used as part of a building management system and turn lighting on at beginning of day and off after work hours with the occupancy sensor being local controls that control the smaller zones. Can this be clarified more as to what is really required? Provide specifications for devices? Are new zone relays available in the existing lighting control panel for the Private Interview room and the new storage room?
Yes. This is an accurate, general description of the Leviton lighting system. The system is low voltage and is managed by a graphical user interface. The specifications define the alterations to the system. It should likely be assumed relays are needed to accommodate the new devices in the Private Interview room and the new storage room. Local supplier is Specified Lighting Systems and they can be consulted for further details as well as pricing.
11) Are public address speakers required in the temporary reception area? To be relocated to the new reception area?
Public address speakers do not exist in the space.
12) What are the specific LEED Requirements/Certifications for this project that the General Contractor has to fulfill?
January 25, 2016
1. Will the government remove the furniture and partitions to make the space ready for construction/demolition or is that going to be the responsibility of the GC.
This is noted in the specifications. See Spec 01 10 00, part 1.6.
2. Please provide the make model for the acoustic ceiling tile.
This is noted in the specifications. See Spec 09 51 13, part 2.2.

1. I have a question regarding the Electrical Drawings for this project. Which Electrical Plans (SmithGroup JJR Drawings E8, E9, & E10 or ENVerity Drawing E3.1) should we bid? We can’t do both because they are quite different in scope of work requirements.
Both plans apply to this project and both sets of specifications and drawings should be followed.
We were not allowed to take pictures during the walk-through so I don’t have information I can compare to catalog cut sheets in order to get a quote for matching light fixtures.
2. What is the manufacturer and catalog numbers for the 2x2 and 2x4 volumetric light fixtures?
Duplicate.
3. What is the manufacturer and catalog numbers for the EXIT light fixtures?
4. Please specify Plastic or Stainless Steel (other) Wall Plates?
5. The exterior of this building is curtain wall, how do you access for additions of new power and data outlets? From under floor?
6. Can the new Isolated Ground from the 75 KVA Transformer to panels RP-G1 and RP-G2 be ran in a separate raceway from the existing Power, Neutral, and Electrical Ground Conductors or does it have to be in the same raceway as those?
