Force Protection Upgrades - Tanner Hill

QUESTION: On the drawings there are allowances for conduit for a traffic sensing loop. These are typically laid in the ground as a preformed loop with a lead out to wire into the controls area of the barrier. Could it be allowed that this loop or loops be laid and set within the roadway fully formed and ready to be wired at a later date?
ANSWER: The traffic sensing “loop” that the drawings are referring too are an IR transmitter. Each stanchion has an IR sensor on it and the conduit is a pathway connecting the sensors. If the IR beam between the sensors is broken (Meaning a vehicle is in its path) the drop arm gate will not close on it. This needs to be completed now rather than at a later date.
