Pass: ______ Fail: ______

2. 3.1. Test to ensure the system can handle items with dimensions and weights as described in

3.1. Each conveyor shall be fully loaded.

At least one item shall have the minimum dimensions and weight and one item shall have the maximum dimensions and weight identified in 3.1. If any item fails to complete a run of the system, jams or falls off the conveyor, is damaged from being transported on the conveyor, or if the system fails to operate as specified for any item, the system fails this test.

3. 3.2.1. Test to ensure that the conveyor system operates at the specified speed under maximum load. During the above test, measure the speed of the conveyor. If the conveyor does not transfer baggage at 90 +/- 5 feet per minute, the system fails this test.

FA8604-18-R-8114 Attachment 2 Page 17 of 28

Misawa AB - Appendix A - Page 14

4. 3.2.2. Test to ensure the system can meet the live load capacity requirements. Load the conveyor to the maximum live load capacity by multiplying the total linear feet of conveyor by the required live load capacity of 100 pounds per linear foot. Operate the conveyor in this manner for 30 minutes, continually adding bags to and removing bags from the conveyor. If the conveyor is not able to operate carrying a full live load, or if the conveyor is damaged from carrying the full live load, the system fails this test.

5. 3.2.2. Test to ensure the system is capable of starting and stopping under a fully loaded condition. During the above test, stop the conveyor for 30-second intervals every 5 minutes then restart the conveyor. If the conveyor was not able to start, stop and operate carrying the live load capacity, the system fails this test.

6. 3.2.3. Check to the dimensions of the conveying surface. The width of the conveyor conveying surface must be between 30 and 36 inches and the height much be between 17 and 19 inches.

7. 3.2.7. Ensure the supports have a minimum total adjustment of 4 inches.

Misawa AB - Appendix A - Page 15

8. 3.2.9. Check the spacing between the crescent plates and the angled cover plates along the entire length of the conveyor. If the angled cover plates contact the crescent plates, or if the gap between the two exceeds 1/8 inch, the system fails this test.

9. 3.2.14.5.

Test to ensure baggage does not jam at a rate greater than 0.5 percent and does not snag. Using 10 test loads of different sizes and weights (at least one item having the minimum dimensions and weight and one item having the maximum dimensions and weight identified in 3.1., transfer each item on the conveyor a minimum of 20 cycles. If more than one jam occurs on any conveyor, or if any bags snag on gaps, openings, or protrusions, the system fails

10. 3.2.12. Check the installation of the carpet to see if it has been properly installed. Ensure the angled cover plate has been installed around the entire perimeter of the carpet.

11. 3.2.14.4. Test the manual back up to open the security doors. If the security doors cannot be opened manually and the conveyor operated normally, the system fails this

Misawa AB - Appendix A - Page 16

12. 3.2.16.6.1.

3.2.17.5.

Test operation of the door sensors and door blocked light. Attempt to start the conveyor with a security door not fully raised. Raise the door to the fully open position and attempt to start the conveyor.

Lower the door with the conveyor operating.

Repeat for all doors on the conveyor. If the conveyor starts with the door not fully raised, if the conveyor does not start with the door fully raised, if the conveyor does not stop when the door is lowered, if the door blocked light does not illuminate when the door is not fully raised, or if the door blocked light illuminates when the door is fully open, the system fails this

13. 3.2.16.6.2. Test operation of the jam sensors and the jam indicator. Start each conveyor and intentionally jam a bag. Attempt to restart the conveyor without clearing the jam. Clear the jam and attempt to restart the conveyor. If the jam is not detected, if the jam detected light does not illuminate, if the jam detected light does not return to normal once the jam is cleared, if the conveyor will restart before clearing the jam, or if the conveyor will not start after clearing the jam and pressing the start button, the system fails

FA8604-18-R-8114 Attachment 2 Page 20 of 28

Misawa AB - Appendix A - Page 17

14. 3.2.16.6.3. Test to ensure the system stops when the designated amount of time passes without a bag. Start each conveyor without any bags on it. After the conveyor stop, attempt to restart the conveyor. If the conveyor does not stop after the preset amount of time, or if the conveyor will not restart by pressing the start button, the system fails

15. 3.2.17.4. Test operations of the emergency stop buttons. Start the conveyor, then activate an emergency stop button. Try to restart the system by depressing the start button without resetting the emergency stop.

Reset the emergency stop button and depress the start button. Repeat for all emergency stop buttons and all start buttons. If the conveyor fails to stop when an emergency stop is depressed, if the conveyor restarts while an emergency stop button is activated, or if the conveyor will not restart once all emergency stops have been cleared, the system fails this test.
