Question: Para 3.2.8 of Appendix A asks for FR plywood flooring but does not call for any kind of covering over the plywood. Is this correct or is there something going on top of the FR plywood like tile or rubber matting?

Answer: A covering shall be provided; Appendix A has been updated with this revision.

Question: For the mobile aisle there are no dimensions on the drawings or the appendix. A rough estimate can be established based on the size of the weapons racks, however a min/max size would be helpful.

Answer: The footprint of the entire mobile aisle system is approximately 31’ x 35’.

Question: For the mobile aisle, do you want the ramp on 1 side, 2 sides, or all sides? The appendix does not specify other than 1 should be provided.

Answer: Ramps shall be provided on both the North and South sides of the mobile aisle as shown on AF Drawing USP701-01.

Question: For the removal of the existing weapons racks it states that “Approximately 75 existing weapons cabinets will be removed and disposed of at the recycling facility at Ramstein AB which is roughly 115 km southeast of Spangdahlem AB.”

What is the method to which the cabinets will get there? Does the base have scrap bins that can be delivered to the job site and hauled off to the recycling center or will the contractor be required to rent equipment, fill it, and drive the 115 kms?

Answer: The contractor will be required to obtain their own equipment to dispose of the existing cabinets.

Question: will awardee be responsible for unloading the cabinets at Ramstein DRMO as well? Or just delivering?

Answer: "Our DRMO is located in Kaiserslautern (K-10) and we are required to make an appointment.

We will schedule the appointment for the Contractor and the contractor is responsible for off-loading assistance w/equipment. DLA has personnel readily available to off-load w/MHE, so that's not a problem. We will create the documentation for the property and also have one of our IPE drive up to DRMO to ensure a smooth turn-in of the equipment.

Question: Can you tell me the size of the existing cabinets that are to be removed and taken to Ramstein? Also, will the recycling center at Ramstein be able to unload the cabinets or will we be required to do it, and do they need to be palletized?

Answer: -Existing cabinets are approximately 42"W x 16"D x 84"H (each cabinet location is actually broken out into two smaller cabinets stacked on top of each other so 42"w x 16"d x 42"H).

-The recycling center at Ramstein will have personnel and equipment to offload and Spangdalem personnel will assist with filling out the necessary forms.

-Existing equipment is typically palletized to allow for easier handling although it is not specifically required
