Statement of Work Project Title: Selective Radiation Monitor
Document Date: 11 January 2019.
Objective and Scope: Selective Radiation Monitoring
Background: USAFSAM presently has no monitoring equipment for radio-frequency radiation within the 3 kHz to 100 kHz range. AFI 48-109 (Aug 2014) Section 3.1.3. There are maximum permissible exposure limits through the 3kHz to 100 kHz range (per AFI 48-109 Aug 2014) Section 3.1.3. states: "Contact USAFSAM for measurement and evaluation assistance at the ESOH Service Center at 1-888-232-3764, DSN 798-3764.
Minimum Requirements: USAFSAM/OEC has a need for a new instrument that provides selective measurement of radio frequency and Microwave electromagnetic fields. The instrument shall provide isotropic and single axis measurements, and include automatic antenna and cable detection. The device shall be useable in diverse environments ( i.e laboratory settings, field exercises, real world scenarios) and the monitors need to have global positioning system capabilities and voice recording. The instrument shall be capable of the following:
· Maximum direct current voltage: 50 V
· Automatic antenna and cable detection
· Immunity for operation in High Field Strengths
· Perform narrow range analysis of electromagnetic fields
· Ability to separate emitters
· Perform single or multiple measurements that can be averaged and/or stored in the meter to be downloaded to a computer later
· Able to perform radio frequency radiation detection within the 3 kHz to 100 kHz range
