SUBJECT: Response to Inquiries regarding Solicitation FA8601-18-Q-0121, Audiology Sound Suite

QUESTIONS

1. Do the end users have a specific requirement for the pediatric testing equipment, i.e.

VRA, Speakers, etc?

2. Looking at the photos of the current suite, will the Government contractor remove the ceiling for the disassembly/install as we are not allowed to make changes to a federal building?

3. Access to above the suite is required, is this available?

4. Is it possible to extend the time for response by 7 days?

5. With regard to the removal of the existing unit, can you please provide the size and configuration?

6. In order to remove the current sound suite, we will need the drop ceiling removed in the corridor area. Will this be the responsibility of the winning bidder, or will this be the responsibility of Wright- Patterson AFB? Who will be responsible for the reinstallation of the drop ceiling once the new sound suite is reinstalled?

7. There also appears to be a sprinkler head in front of the booth that may need to be removed, or turned up out of the way. Who will be responsible for this?

8. If there are other mechanicals that would prevent the sound suite from being removed or the new one installed, who would be responsible for the removal and replacement of these items?

9. If there are sprinklers inside the suite, who will be responsible for the removal and replacement of these?

10. Because the sound suite is above the drop ceiling, I assume the Hvac is connected to the host buildings Hvac system. Who will be responsible for the disconnect and the reconnect?

11. Is the sound suite located on the ground floor? If not, what floor is it located on?

12. If the sound suite is not located on the ground floor, is there an elevator that will hold all material? Can you provide the dimensions of the elevator?

13. Is there a loading dock that will be able to accept the material in the vicinity of the work area where the sound suite will be going?

14. While the current sound suite is wheelchair accessible, it is not ADA compliant. Do you require the new sound suite to be ADA compliant? If so, would a low profile be acceptable or do you require the elevated and isolated floor for the exam room? If the elevated and isolated floor is required on the exam side, do you have adequate room for a ramp and landing that would meet ADA?

15. If the ramp and landing is required for the exam side, and there is adequate space, this will need to be custom built on site. Who will be responsible for building this on site?

ANSWERS

1. The requirements for pediatric testing is outlined in Attachment 1 – Statement of Work and requires the capability of testing/counseling by an Audiologist on the exam side of the suite. There is no requirement for new speakers or VRA.

2. The awarded contractor will be responsible for the ceiling removal and reinstallation of the drop ceiling.

3. Access to the area above the audiology suite will be available as required for removal of the old suite and installation of the new suite.

4. The government does not intend to extend the response time at this point.

5. The size and configuration of this unit is exactly as requested in the Statement of Work.

It cannot get any larger due to space limitations in the building. As for the configuration, the vendor will have the option to view it further on 25 June 2018 from 12:00 – 1:00 PM EST at the site visit. Also, please refer to Response to Questions #1 that includes pictures of the current suite.

6. The awarded contractor will be responsible for the ceiling removal and reinstallation of the drop ceiling.

7. The awarded contractor will be responsible for the sprinkler work.

8. The awarded contractor will be responsible for mechanical work.

9. No sprinkler is inside the sound booth.

10. The awarded contractor will be responsible for the HVAC work, including the disconnect and reconnect.

11. The sound booth is on the 2nd floor of the Medical Treatment Facility.

12. There is an elevator. The elevator doors are 42 inches wide, 84 inches tall, and the depth of the elevator compartment is 60 inches deep.

13. There is a loading dock at the rear of the Hospital.

14. It is required to be ADA compliant. The expectation is that the contractor will make the new booth ADA compliant. Because this is in a healthcare occupied facility we must maintain adequate clearance in the hallway for egress without presenting a tripping hazard. Low profile flooring is acceptable as long as the booth still meets the required specifications and standards outlined in the Statement of Work.

15. The awarded contractor will be required to make the booth ADA compliant, including ramp building/installation.
