a. The estimated quantities listed are based on available historical figures, but shall be considered as estimates only. There are considerable variations in the quantity of ash generated at the heating plant on a daily basis. Factors that impact the amount of ash generated include weather conditions, type coal burned, plant demand, plant maintenance activity, summer plant shut-down, and unavoidable downtime, etc. During the winter heating season, it is typical to make 2-4 trips a day using a 20 ton truck. The intent is to completely empty the ash silo during each pickup.
b. The Contractor shall note that the heating plant has contract projects that include gas boilers which are designed to handle the summer load and may be used at times in the fall and spring season to handle the current load. This will limit or completely stop the amount of ash being produced at the heating plant.
