Minimum Requirements For 3D Vibrometer System
System Description The PSV-500-3D system is used to measure out-of-plane and in-plane vibration/motion. This motion is measured with extreme accuracy, and also to frequencies that are not possible with an accelerometer. The laser points can be placed very close together. When the date is scanned with a high spatial resolution, the system provides a mesh of data that is so dense stress and strain can be calculated from the data.
System Hardware The PSV-500-3D system is modular in design and consists of the following components:
Scan Heads:
The PSV-500 scan heads can be interchanged from one PSV-500 system to another PSV-500 system without affecting the overall calibration of the system. Decoder frequency range 0 Hz … 1 MHz Laser Class 2 <1 mW visible light. Scan angle 50 deg x 40 deg Front End:
The system makes all connections from external devices in or out of the PSV-500-3D through the Front End, using standard BNC connections.
· The Front End provides analog inputs for “Reference Channels”. Unlike previous systems, the PSV-500 does not use any of these for the scan heads, the scan head data will all be transferred digitally.
· High scan resolution up to 512x512 scan point resolution.
· There are 4 “Signal Generator” outputs which provide analog signal outputs from the internal signal generator.
· One “Sync TTL” output for the SYNC signal of the function generator.
· One “Aux Out TTL” jack which is programmable using Visual Basic Engine for use with special applications.
· One “Aux In TTL” jack to connect an acoustic gate unit or other devices that may require a TTL signal to start them.
· One “Trig In TTL” input to bring in an external TTL signal.
Junction Box with integrated laser controllers:
The PSV-500 systems now integrates the laser controllers and the junction box into one module. This was done to keep the data in a digital format the entire time, thereby reducing background noise and improving the dynamic range of the data significantly.
Data Management System:
The data is then transferred to the computer using two Ethernet cables. This moves the digital signal from the Junction Box to the Data Management System and software, all while maintaining the digital format.
System Software The system runs a Windows 7 64 bit operating system. PSV version 9.0 or newer software.
Backwards Compatibility
· The PSV software looks very similar to older versions of the software. This means users who know PSV 8.x software will be able to use the software from the first moment it is turned on.
· All files previously captured using PSV 8.x software, can be opened and edited seamlessly.
