Contractor Q&A

3.4. Robot Support Structure:

A. The robot shall be mounted from the ceiling of the booth. A sketch of the booth is located in Appendix A.

B. If required to support the robot and associated hardware, the contractor shall design and install a structure external to the existing booth to support the selected robot and hardware.

Question: Empire will not want anything mounted to their booth ceiling, it would need to be PE confirmed, and an external structure will not access the inside of the booth. Do you mean an internal structure to support the robot in the booth?

Answer:

-Empire will not want anything mounted to their booth ceiling - The warranty on the booths has expired, the booth is property of the US Air Force.

-It would need to be PE confirmed - OK -An external structure will not access the inside of the booth - The intent was to have an external structure that strengthened/support the ceiling of the booth, thus allowing for the robot to be mounted.

-Do you mean an internal structure to support the robot in the booth - The problem with an internal structure is two-fold. First, the floor inside the booth is part of the media recovery system and was not designed to handle that load, and could interfere with the recovery of media. Second, an internal structure would take up space in the booth.
