About this file

This single source justification document proposes procuring vibration analysis sensors from Nanoprecise Science Corporation on a sole source basis. The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center requires Nanoprecise's MachineDoctor sensors to monitor critical equipment as identified in an IT purchase request on March 7, 2023. Nanoprecise was determined to be the only vendor that meets the needs based on market research conducted including attending industry conferences, online searches, and contacting known sources. Two authorized Nanoprecise distributors were identified but not pursued due to not being registered in the System for Award Management. No other actions are currently planned to introduce competition for this requirement in the future.

Single Source Justification (Simplified Acquisition)

CONTROLLED UNCLASSIFIED INFORMATION

April 2021 CONTROLLED UNCLASSIFIED INFORMATION Page 2 of 2April 2021 CONTROLLED UNCLASSIFIED INFORMATION Page 2 of 2 by 75th IT in a signed IT Purchase Request (ITPR) on March 7, 2023.

Section D: Efforts to Obtain Competition

With our research, it was found that Nanoprecise is the only vendor that meets our needs. The government SME completed extensive market research, including attending conferences specific to the vibration analysis industry, conducting Internet searches, researching government data basis, and contacting known sources and industry SME's.

The government SME contacted Nanoprecise in an effort to locate other vendors capable of providing MachineDoctor sensors via authorized manufacturers or distributors. Nanoprecise stated they are the sole OEM and do not authorize manufacturing.

However they do have two authorized distributors who have limited authorization to resell in the United States. Upon further research the two vendors Atlas Reliability and Pepper Maintenance were not registered in SAM.gov and Nanoprecise is the only authorized vendor to procure these sensors through as approved by the 75th ABW ITPR, therefore we must continue to pursue these sensors through Nanoprecise.

Section E: Steps to Preclude Future Single Source or Brand Name Awards

At this time, there are no known actions being taken to remove or overcome barriers to competition. However the Government will continue to monitor the market for future innovations and possibilities of more distributors.

Section F: Contracting Officer's Determination

I have determined, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), that the circumstances of this contract action deem only a single source is reasonably available.
