SLS PRINTER QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES
Question: Does the printer need to have optimization for production such as quick change build cartridge?
Response: Yes optimized material and simple build changes are desirable. As specified in the technical requirements
Question: Are you ok with a machine where the user has to do a full reset before every build?
Response: As long as there is a material recycling process within the system that allows us to continually recycle a portion of the unsintered powder, and a sealed material container our needs will have been met. With that said, the machine that requires less involvement/effort to prepare for subsequent prints would be desirable.
Question: What is the largest part you would ever make?
Response: The parts that we are looking to make vary greatly in size and shape. As long as all dimensions are no smaller than 8” and the total build volume is greater than 1000 in 3 then we believe we can make any of our current designs work either in a single print or splitting the print into separate pieces. Larger build volume capability is desirable.
Question: Do you currently use an SLS 3D Printer and whose printer do you use?
Response: We do not currently have an SLS Printer. All proposed quotes should include everything that will be required for a turnkey solution to produce an end use 3D part from unsintered material all the way through finished and cleaned in each of the desired material classes.
