SAFETY STORAGE BUILDING

A free-standing, relocatable chemical storage and containment structure. The structure includes the following components for storage of flammable or combustible liquids and other hazardous materials.

STANDARD FEATURES:

· Nominal Dimensions 10’ wide x 32’ long x 9’ high

· Explosion Relief Construction

· Secondary Containment Sump 7” Deep

· Sump Drain With Cap

· Factory Mutual System ("FM") Approved & Labeled.

· Exterior Wall Construction: Weatherproof, bi-directional, 2-hour fire-rated noncombustible construction, per Underwriter Laboratories ("UL") Fire Resistance Rating Design Number U425, with two (2) layers of UL Classified fire-resistive gypsum wallboard fastened to the interior and exterior sides of steel studs. The interior and exterior surfaces consist of galvannealed steel sheets.

· Sump Wall Construction: Weatherproof 2-hour fire-rated noncombustible construction, utilizing interior & exterior continuously welded heavy gauge steel sheets for maximum spill containment protection.

· Roof/Ceiling Construction: Weatherproof 1-hour fire-rated noncombustible construction, utilizing interior galvannealed steel sheets & continuously welded heavy gauge steel roof sheets for maximum durability and weather resistance. Roof/ceiling permanently attached to exterior walls.

· Two (2) 156” Wide x 80” High Fire Rated, Chain Operated Roll-up Door, UL Classified & Labeled, equipped with UL Listed exterior security lock(s) with keyless interior safety release lever(s).

· One (1) 36” Wide x 80” High Fire Rated Door

· Screened Air Vent(s): Air inlet vent(s) equipped with UL Classified & Labeled 3-hour rated fire dampers with louvers & screens to provide air flow. Dampers have a galvanized steel frame, curtain-type galvanized steel blades, and a UL Listed 165°F fusible link.

· Building Base: Open channel construction for forklift and/or crane slings and under building inspections.

· Galvanized Steel Floor Grating

· Internal Spill Containment Capacity: Minimum 30% of total storage capacity. Surpasses regulatory and Factory Mutual requirements for spill containment.

· Interior Finish: High solids, chemical-resistant epoxy coating with a white aliphatic polyurethane topcoat.

· Exterior Finish: High solids, chemical-resistant epoxy undercoat with a heat reflective white aliphatic polyurethane topcoat.

· Four (4) Hold-down Brackets (structural steel angles) for bolting to purchaser's foundation for seismic and wind load anchoring.

· Static Grounding System: One (1) exterior grounding connection, one (1) 10-foot long 5/8" diameter copper-clad steel grounding rod, one (1) #4AWG copper conductor, and grounding lug(s).

· Signage: D.O.T. hazard classification placard with rust-proof aluminum holder & stainless steel clips; and pressure sensitive NFPA 704 Hazard Rating Sign(s).

· Unique Identifier/Identification (UID) Tag: Placed on front of container in upper area on the face left of the leftmost roll-up door.

DESIGN LOADS:

· Roof Snow Load: 40 psf

· Wind Load: 110 mph, Exposure C

· Floor Live Load: 500 psf

· Seismic Condition: Zone 4 or Performance Category E

OFFLOADING: Offloading instructions and date of delivery shall be provided to the Government as soon as possible after contract award and NLT 60 days before delivery to enable site preparation and arrangement of offloading equipment of the proper type and capacity.

ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION: Assembly and installation instructions shall be provided to the Government as soon as possible after contract award and NLT 60 days before delivery to enable proper assembly and installation by government personnel.

WARRANTY: Building shall be warranted for one (1) year from the date of substantial completion. Defects must be reported to the SSI Customer Service Department within one (1) year of completion. This warranty shall including a structural warranty to include structural components (e.g., load-bearing walls, floor supports, sump structure and root) for a period of fifteen (15) years from the date of purchase. Any items not manufactured but purchased by the supplier shall be warranted against defects resulting from the original manufacturer's fabrication process or parts for one (1) year from the date of delivery. Such items include but are not limited to: switches, lights, electrical boxes, air conditioners, heaters, fan motors, dry chemical fire protection equipment, fusible links, door closures, door locks, electrical relays, thermostats, pressure relief valves, shut-off valves, etc. The Government shall be reimbursed for postal charges, duties and insurance where applicable.
