Amendment 1: Questions and Answers
Question 1: The work of DEIB transcends industry- how crucial is the “art-specific” delivery?
Answer 1: Through quarterly training sessions, the Air Force provides comprehensive training and information on DEIB issues that have been helpful to The USAF Band. These training sessions are broad and serve a variety of career fields, everything from cops to public affairs specialists, civil engineers to bus drivers. The sessions have left a gap that has us seeking an art-specific delivery. The USAF Band faces similar DEIB challenges to other major performing arts organizations, including but not limited to career pipeline challenges, unique industry hiring practices, and education shortcomings (K-12 and higher ed). We also seek a greater understanding of best practices for outreach and programming. These needs have not been fulfilled by our current quarterly DEIB training sessions.
Question 2: Can the small group training be recorded, or do you expect all training to be live (virtual)?
Answer 2: The training needs to be live and interactive, to cater to the specific needs of the organization and its members. Open dialogue is crucial in these trainings.
Question 3: For Clarity - Large group training says it could be split, what is the maximum number of groups the large group training can be split into?
Answer 3: The training could be split into any size or conducted as a full group. The Contractor can make an informed decision on how to make the best impact on a group that large.
Question 4: Who is responsible for hosting the Zoom training (is it on Air force on the Contractor)?
Answer 4: Either the Contractors or The Air Force Band Personnel and Readiness zoom account can be used for hosting trainings.
