Question and Answer for only question submitted as of 5/26/2015:
QUESTION:
In studying the specifications and drawings I have come up with a question on the tapered insulation that I feel needs clarification. The drawings show a constant edge of 5". The specs specify 1-1/2" minimum and 1/4" per foot slope.
Based upon drain locations, I believe that the edge could be a constant 6" using 1/8" per foot slope and maintain the 1-1/2" minimum, or using 1/4" per foot slope. The edge would have to increase to about 10-1/2"; that thickness could cause more mechanical work.
GOVERNMENT ANSWER:
We have reviewed the below questions on site and determined that the option of using 1/8" per foot slope, maintaining the 1-1/2" minimum, and having a constant edge of 6" per below is preferred as this is likely closest to the current roof condition and would minimize impacts to the structure.
