Combined Questions and Answers

Question 1: The SOW request that 2 air handler units for building 1655 be replaced but not the condensers. The current condensers and air handlers are R-22 units and due to new EPA regulations R-22 units are no longer being manufactured. I will not be able to obtain R-22 Air Handling Units. If I obtain a R-410A air handling unit it will not be compatible with the R-22 condenser. Does the government therefore want both the condenser and the air handling unit replaced?

Answer 1: Replace existing AHU's and evaporator coils to improve system operations, utilizing the existing condensers. Evaporator coils and expansion valves shall be R-22 compatible.

Question 2: Buildings 1643, 1651, and 1660 with VRF system to service. Are as-built drawings, equipment submittal data, or equipment owner’s manuals available? If so, please provide.

Answer 2: Available documents are attached to this solicitation modification.

Question 3: Buildings 1236 – Is the Lennox Gas Fired Duct Heater to remain and be reused with the new split system? Is it acceptable to install the existing BacNet controller on the new split system?
