About this file

This document contains a set of questions and answers related to the JOC AV PROJECT federal contract opportunity.

The key details are:

  • The government requires a projection screen fixture to be mounted on I-beams, and needs drawings/sketches showing the dimensions and spacing of the beams.
  • The projectors must be attached to the same structure as the screen, either mounted to the top or bottom of the frame.
  • The government originally specified 5,000 lumen projectors, but thinks this may not be bright enough for the 7-foot projection screen, especially if the room has lights on. They are open to higher lumen laser projectors if required.

Answers to JOC AV PROJECT Questions

1. Can you provide a drawing, a hand sketch will do, of the I-beams where you intend to mount the projection screen fixture? This needs to show us the general dimensions of the beams, the spacing and the heights up to the ceiling. Pictures could help too.

Attached.

1. Can you describe if the projectors need to be fixed to the same structure as the screen or can they be mounted directly to the ceiling?

We will require them to be attached to the frame. We currently can’t mount from the ceiling.

They can either be mounted to the top or the bottom. Whichever will be the best way as stated in the SOW.

1. Can you verify that 5000 lumen projectors are desired. We think that these are not bright enough for a 7’ tall projection screen, especially if the room has any lights on.

5000 Lumen was the minimum for the laser projectors, if they are required to be higher than we would prefer to go with that option but we are not the technical specialists in that field.
