FA5587-16-Q-0021 – 100 FSS QoL Wifi Questions and Answers

1. Where is the point of presence?

The point of presence is at building 591 with the ITN at building 422. No Wifi is required in this building. All fiber is already installed. The composition of the network is a legacy system with fiber. For the most part, there are cable runs in place. However, in some areas cable runs will need to be installed. The Bob Hope building 404 will require conduits for cable running, as there are no drop ceilings.

2. Where is the power points located in the buildings?

Where power is required 100 FSS will request a 332 via CE for 13 amp power supply. Wireless Access points preferably N.

3. Are cabinets provided?

The contract will need to supply full size cabinets. The blueprints provided by 100 FSS call out buildings where cabinets are required. Additionally, some locations may require odd placement of cabinets like in the Sports Center.

4. Any hazardous work areas?

No. There are no “hot” areas. Additionally, there is no air conditioning in the workplace.

5. What is the specific internet requirement?

The requirement calls for the contract to install all equipment and infrastructure required for the Wifi network. The internet service shall be 200 Mbps, contended, with the anticipation of 350 users on the Wifi network for events at the following locations: bowling alley, blg 460 classrooms, and fitness center.

Building 240 will need to service car work bays, which are approx. 40 meters across from the main 240 building. Would suggest external access points, but LOS is acceptable.

Flat network as a minimum, however as this is an outsourced project network topology using the existing spare fiber is up to the contractor to determine security levels with 100 FSS.FSRI.

Allowing for 20% expansion on switches. Security policy can be discussed with the contractor after award.

6. Is there any existing drops for wifi access?

There is existing drops on the legacy system that are not for use with this effort. The contract will install and supply are drops required for this effort.

7. Are there available floor plans for the areas requiring internet installation and service?

The 100 FSS has agreed to provide floor plans to those vendors that are interested in submitting a quote. The floor plan requests will need to go through 48 Contracting Squadron by contacting Mrs. Nikkole Stites, nikkole.stites.1@us.af.mil, or TSgt Eric Schaffstein, eric.schaffstein@us.af.mil.

8. What is the required completion timeframe for the installation and internet service requirement?
