FA5587-16-Q-0021 – 100 FSS QoL Wifi – Questions Submitted After Site Visit Questions and Answers:

1. Bldg 849. The drawing does not show where the Cardio room is or the Seating area outside the food court. There are only three areas marked for wifi, but five are listed in SOW.

I have reattached the Plan for B849 and labelled the areas. Five areas are required for coverage, however three Wi-Fi spots will fully cover those areas identified.

2. Bldg 460. No floor plan was provided. Please provide the floor plan. Additionally, the SOW was missing where the wifi coverage is needed in this building.

B460 only requires two additional LAN drops installed, as they already have Wi-Fi from a previous installation. The SOW is updated to reflect the current wifi service that will need to be provided, which includes 4 classrooms, discovery resource center, and offices.

3. What are the length of each fibre run from 422 to each Bldg listed. We need this to determine the type of fibre optic GBIC module to specify.

This request has been sent to 100 CS. They are determining if it can be publicly released. It can be discussed after award.

4. Please clarify if we can get floor plans for 591 and 442 as these two were mentioned as PoP buildings. Additionally, what does ITN mean? There is confusion on what buildings are the point of presence. Please clarify.

B591 is the PoP, B422 is the ITN (Internetworking Trucking Node) so the some fiber goes to B422 and from there the fiber goes out to that side of base. Some buildings will obtain connections directly from B591. At this time, the building plans for B591/B422 are not publicly releasable.

5. Is there a map of the fiber that runs between the point of presence to the building requiring installation? Is the current fiber infrastructure a hub and spoke set up?

The request has been placed with 100 CS. The fiber is already installed between buildings and does not require additional infrastructure. Not actually sure if the maps of the fiber runs between buildings is required to install wifi internally in the buildings specified as the requirement is not between the buildings and all fiber to buildings are existing.

6. Is there a site map highlighting all the relevant buildings for the project and the fibre runs between is the simplest way for us to understand the existing fibre plan. We’re taking it currently the we’ll install the internet link in building 591, then we go on fibre to building 422 where the links to all 12 other buildings congregate, is this correct?

The government is utilizing the fiber and runs currently installed between each building and the 100 CS buildings. Some will connect directly from B422 and the rest will run straight from B591.

7. Can you provide a floor plan for the first floor of building 440? It was not included in the floor plans but is outlined in the SOW requiring wifi?

File for B440 was included but they are label ground floor and second floor. There’s only two floors, they just weren’t labelled clearly. I have reattached the files in case you need them.

8. . How is Bldg 422 connected to Bldg 591 i.e. by multi-core multi-mode fibre B422 has multi-mode and single mode fiber going to it, but for this project we are only able to reuse the multi-mode.

9. . Is Bldg. 591 also the building from which the fibre emanates and is routed through to all other buildings as we were informed on the walk through that this was Bldg 422? Please confirm.

Basically, B591 supports the northeast side of the base and B422 is the ITN that supports the northwest side. Each ITN goes back to B591. Buildings 440, 436, 404 and 425 have their own fiber run to B422 and then back to B591. All the other buildings with in the scope of work run straight back to B591.
