QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
17-1020 RPR Storage Warehouse 970 Solicitation: FA5575-20-B-0003
Question 1: The first is with respect to the type C luminaire with emergency. The manufacturer comments on the following comments:
Considerations:
Emergency KIT for this type of luminaires, are very limited in power. In this case, the power in emergency mode would be around the total 5W, for 2.5-3 hours.
The cost of making an emergency kit to respect the IP is high, which the customer confirms if they must necessarily meet that point to requote.
Like all products for this facility, it will be fed to 120Vac.
Please confirm these assumptions.
Question 2: The second question is regarding this type of plug:
The specifications require the following:
As you can see in this table the required plug does not exist, I have pointed out the Nema 15-20R switch so that you can see that it is not as in project:
Please confirm our assumption and, if correct, please modify to include said plug.
Responses to questions are:
Answer 1: Emergency battery kits requirements are set forth in specification section 26 20 00, parag. 2.5:
30W max for 90 minutes minimum operation. All bidders must consider all costs to comply with the requirements in drawings and specifications; Government does not make a trade off between project cost and lesser requirements. Electrical power drawings, panelboard shchedule and other references clearly indicate that lighting fixtures are fed by single phase 120 V, 60 Hz.
Answer 2: The receptacle indicated contains a typo, both in the drawing legend and in specifications section 26 20 00, parag. 2.9. Correct receptacle type is NEMA 5-20R.
