QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS SET 1

SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM UPGRADE
RAF CROUGHTON
UNITED KINGDOM
Q1) The document states that all cameras must have an infrared lighting feature. The Solicitation document indicates that 11 Bosch MIC PTZs are required, but only details 3 sets of IR illuminators – is this correct or is there a requirement for 11 sets of IR illuminators to ensure that all cameras have the Infrared lighting feature?
A1) All cameras must have night vision capabilities. If the camera cannot provide this capability or does not have this ability built in, it will need the IR illuminator.
Q2) Can we assume that electrical mains power will be supplied by the Base contractor outside of this SOW to each camera location (i.e. base of the CCTV pole) or is this a requirement within our SOW?
A2) The contractor will be responsible for wiring to the nearest power box. Base contractors will provide assistance in routing power to these points.
Q3) Does the requested 3 year warranty include all call outs, (whether the issue is equipment related or not), include periodic camera cleaning and all software firmware updates of the 3 years period or is the warranty just relating to equipment failure?
A3). The 3-year warranty is for software and hardware support and includes call outs for equipment failures.
Q4) Can I assume that all of the CCTV Control Equipment should be manufactured by Bosch?
A4) No, the solicitation does not have a brand name nor sole source set-aside for Bosch products. There are no restrictions to offer other than Bosch products as long as it is equal to the salient characteristics in the SOW and is not produced by any of the manufacturers excluded in H.R. 5515 Section 889 per paragraph iv of FAR 52.212-2 of the solicitation.
Q5) As the contractor will need to provide all mounting solutions, can I assume that the installation of concrete camera pole bases and supporting underground duct network will be undertaken by Base Contractors and be outside of the SOW for this contract?
A5) Base contractors will assist with power to the nearest power supplies, but not concrete bases
Q6) The camera BOSCH NTC-255-PI is no longer available in the United Kingdom, would the following alternatives be acceptable? 1) Bosch NBE-4502-AL which is a 2MP bullet camera with IR illumination or
2) Bosch NBE-6502-AL which is a 2MP bullet camera with IR illumination and starlight sensitivity
A6) Offerors who will provide “or equal” items must provide documentation showing it meets the salient characteristics of the item.
