About this file

This document contains clarification responses to questions from offerors regarding solicitation number FA521521R0027. The solicitation is for a perimeter fence upgrade project at Kokee Air Force Station in Hawaii. The effort required is to remove and replace approximately 1,800 linear feet of existing chain link perimeter security fence with a code compliant galvanized steel chain link system seven feet or taller. The contractor will be responsible for transporting all personnel and materials to and from the job site and providing any necessary accommodations for the duration of the project. Questions were answered clarifying that two existing gates are to be removed and the fence continued through those sections, and that new fence posts can be installed on either side of a concrete retaining wall but coordination is needed with the 611th Civil Engineer Squadron to ensure property boundary compliance. Contact information was provided for further questions.

MEMORANDUM FOR DISTRIBUTION

FROM: 766 ESS/PKI

SUBJECT: Clarification Letter

1. The Government hereby provides the response to the following questions received from interested offerors:

Q1. There exists a vehicle gate on the south west side of property, is this gate to be replaced?

A1: This gate is not to be replaced. Gate is to be removed and contractor is to continue the fence through this section.

Q2: On the south side of the property, there exists a main gate. Do you want this replaced?

A2: This gate is not to be replaced. Gate is to be removed and contractor is to continue the fence through this section.

Q3: On the north side of the property, the fence is sitting on a concrete retaining wall.

How should contractor proceed with the installation of the posts?

Q3: Preferred method of replacement would be to install new fence posts on one side of the concrete wall based on optimum side for fence alignment. If new fence post is on the outside, coordination with 611 CES is required to ensure property boundary compliance.

2. If you have any questions regarding these responses, please contract Contract Specialist, Ms Priscilla Murray at priscilla.murray@us.af.mil and myself at letray.womble@us.af.mil.
