LENEL Badging Equipment: Questions and Answers

Page 3, Paragraph 1.0 "The ops building for RF-A currently has controlled access through a sole LENEL system and badging printer. Requesting installation of a LENEL OnGuard compatible access control system because our current access control to RF-A uses LENEL On Guard system. The addition of another LENEL system with badging printer will allow for zero mission loss if the existing LENEL system and badging printer goes down"

Question #1:

If one system is in use and this project scope is to add one additional system with a badging printer, why does 2.1.1 say "Configure and install two (2) servers in racks." Are we relocating the existing server to a GFE rack?

One server would upgrade our current one that is in use, and the second would be the for the new, redundant system.

Question #2:

Is the customer looking for:

A) A 2nd server that is configured like the existing one but sitting in a box. If the primary server goes down, the customer will take the second computer out of the box, plug it in.

or

B) Have a fully redundant server. This means that server #2 will mirror the existing server #1. Servers #1 and 2 will be plugged in and running all the time. Whatever server #1 does, server #2 will mirror.

Question #3:

Does the customer have room on the rack? Is there sufficient access to power in the rack?

Yes we have room and power in the rack.

Question #4:

Are the existing Lenel Server and printer working properly?

Yes, it is just a lot of strain on the single source server/printer.

Question #5: What version of Windows is running on the existing server?

Windows 7

6) Is the printer single of dual sided?

It has the ability to print dual sided, but we only utilize single sided.

7) Total reader count on the existing system?

9) What version number is the existing LENEL system?

Zebra ZXP Series 7 with OnGuard 7.0 (7.0.1067)

10) Need reader count to proximate what license tier of the access control system Eielson AFB is running? i.e. 32ES, ADV, etc.

The system says it can support 24 reader modules on each access panel, which there are 4 of. Added together, our current system supports 96 readers.

11) The credential type allows us know what door hardware controller boards might be out there and what reader types are out there. For example a lot of DoD uses PIV class readers, however Eielson AFB installation may use standard readers running proxy or any other number of credential types.

The following card formats are supported by our current system:

200 Bit

37 bit IClass (662)

37 bit IClass (699)

CAC 75

Credential Agent

HID Access Control (iCLASS)

IrisAccess (iCLASS)

Magnetic Format

SmartID (MIFARE)

V-Smart (iCLASS)

V-Smart (MIFARE)

Wiegand (64)

Wiegand (72)

Wiegand Format

12) We also would like to know the make and model of printer? Is printing badges only on one side or both sides?

The printer is a ZEBRA ZXP Series 7. It prints on both sides.
